Epiphany

Poetry by Melissa Mercado Kama

Whispers in the twilight

Deep in the night, I whisper your name.

I utter it, so no one hears.

For no one knows, not even I

What this weight in my chest means.

So long ago, I put out the flame

But it still warms my skin.

I still feel your touch

And your voice lingers still.

Deep in the night, I lay in the dark

Out of sight, out of mind.

So no one knows that you are here

Lingering in the twilight.
